On the day, over 40,000 people took part in the iconic 26.2 mile race through the capital. Many thousands more were there to cheer them on, creating an incredible atmosphere through the streets of London.
Our ten runners travelled from all over for the event, with four coming all the way from Brazil! They were due to run for us in the 2020 London Marathon but due to the Covid-19 pandemic and associated travel restrictions last year, were unable to take part until now.
We were waiting for our runners at the finish line - it was wonderful to meet those we could and say thank you in person for all of their hard work. Between them, they’ve managed to raise over £15,000 for Rainforest Concern, supporting our vital conservation work around the world.
Thank you to all of our incredible runners who took part and ran the 2022 London Marathon for the rainforests!
