The total area of the Neblina Reserve is now over 2,200 hectares, ensuring the protection of this rare and fragile ecosystem.
The region comprises predominantly tropical montane cloud forest, a unique, extremely diverse and threatened biome. The Andean cloud forests have unusually large numbers of endemic species, many of which are under threat from habitat loss due to farming, logging, road building, mining and illegal logging.
Thank you to all our supporters who generously responded to our appeal to raise the funds necessary for the expansion of the Reserve.
